Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono urged the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency to act quickly in anticipating the impact of extreme weather in Jakarta.
Hopefully, it will be useful for community service
The statement above was conveyed when he witnessed the handover of the equipment and operational official vehicles in the framework of the Bina Marga Agency's preparedness in facing extreme weather at the Bina Marga Equipment and Supplies Unit Office, Cakung-Cilincing, Pulogebang Sub-district, East Jakarta, Wednesday (1/4). Its handover was directly done by Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho to Bina Marga Task Force.
While being accompanied by Development and Environment Assistant, Afan Ardiansyah Idris, East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar; Communications, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) Head, Raides Ariyanto; and officials under Jakarta Provincial Government.
Heru Hopes Creation of Investment Acceleration in Jakarta"With additional facilities and infrastructure, including transport vehicles, I want the Agency Head to work immediately and move quickly, especially to places where the location needs to be repaired," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
According to him, the procurement was done through an e-catalog. "This facility is new, it must be well cared for. Hopefully, it will be useful for community service," he asserted.
Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho explained that the procurement was realized, as the previous vehicles and equipment were more than 10 years old and were unoptimal in supporting the acceleration of handling the effects of extreme weather in Jakarta.
He cited that one of the effects of extreme weather was flooding. His agency already had a standard operating procedure (SOP) for handling before, during, and after an inundation occurred.
The steps taken before the inundation occurred were to repair the storm drains that become water access to drainage. When inundation occurs, personnel are immediately deployed to the field to repair potholes caused by inundation or flooding.
"Surely, the repair is faster, because of new equipment," he asserted.
He went on to say that it was realized from e-catalog. With e-catalog, his agency prioritizes buying domestic products.
"We buy the product through City Budget (APBD). Our focus is domestic products. If the product is unavailable, we will buy foreign products," he concluded.
